Financial Select Sector XLF saw large blocks of Jan 16 calls two days in a row. Today, 25K-contract blocks traded at .59 (hard to tell side). Two more (10K each) Jan 16C totaling 20K also traded at .59. All three blocks traded on the ISE, where sentiment data indicated a customer bought a new position – 45K total, which increased the open interest of Jan 16C by 44,985 contracts to 142,582. XLF will also have ex-dividend day on June 17.
VIX saw 199% the normal volume with 550K calls and 2135K puts traded. Some larger trades in the pit:

EXCO Resources Inc XCO – 4250 of the September 20 calls were bought for $0.80. The calls appear to have been bought to open.
SandRidge Energy Inc. SD – 5000 of the September 11 calls appear to have been bought for $0.90.
Brigham Exploration Company BEXP – 3000 of the July 30 calls bought for $0.50.

ArcelorMittal MT – 2315 of the September 35 calls for $1.14. The calls were bought to open.
General Dynamics Corporation GD – 7500 of the January’13 90 calls were bought for $2.00. The purchase was tied to 134k shares at 70.47 and appears to be an opening position.
Plum Creek Timber Co. Inc. PCL – 6000 of the July 37 puts were sold at $0.47. The puts were sold to open.
Weyerhaeuser Company WY – 12,000 of the July 19 puts were sold at $0.35. The puts were sold to open.
Tech
Viacom, Inc. VIA.B – 15,000 of the January 40 / 55 strangle was sold at $2.30.
Research In Motion Limited RIMM – 22,000 of the January 40 puts were sold at $7.85 and 30,000 January 35 puts bought for $4.90
Cisco Systems, Inc. CSCO – 28,000 July 15 calls were sold at $0.43. The trade was tied to 1.58mm shares at $14.88
Yahoo! Inc. YHOO – 15,000 of the January 16 / 20 call spreads were bought for $0.88 and then traded again 7500x for $0.91.
Cree, Inc. CREE – 3600 of the September 37.5 / 42.5 call spread was purchased for $1.80.
Financials
Morgan Stanley MS – The January 22.5 / 20 1x2 put spread was bought for $0.33 15,000 x 30,000. The trade might be a roll down in strikes.
CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. CBG – 4700 of the July 23 puts were sold at $1.125.

Hologic, Inc. HOLX – 3600 of the December 19 puts were bought for $1.35 in a multi exchange sweep.
